Although this estate is producing more and more dry white, this is a stunning Sauternes. The nose is lush and honeyed, yet vibrant too. It’s being aged in 50% new oak, which is beautifully integrated, absorbed effortless by the concentrated and luscious tropical fruit. There’s a delicious marmalade tang to the taut acidity, and a pithy tightness on the slightly bitter finish. Intense and powerful. The wine has 14% alcohol and 150g/l residual sugar. Blend: 100% Semillon

Medium gold-hued, the 2023 Château Suduiraut has absolutely riveting aromatics of honeyed orange, caramelized citrus, baking spice, and brioche. It's rich, full-bodied, pure, and ultra-seamless on the palate, with a deep, layered mouthfeel and incredible length. Based on 100% Sémillon and aged 20 months in 50% new French oak, it's heavenly stuff that will have 50-75 years of longevity. Drink 2026-2100.
The 2023 Suduiraut is a model of modern Sauternes. Orange peel, burnt sugar, crème-brûlée, tangerine peel, and wild flowers inform a Sauternes of total finesse and silkiness. Yields were a measly 12 hectoliters per hectare. The 150 grams of residual sugar are not especially evident. Everything about the 2023 is perfectly judged. It can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring or cellared for decades. The 2023 is a timeless wine that is among the most notable successes of the year.
With 150 grams per liter of residual sugar, the 2023 Suduiraut is exquisite, unfurling from the glass with aromas of pineapple, exotic fruits, spices, honey, ripe orchard fruits and a touch of menthol. Medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and deep, it is layered and finely textured, built around a powerful yet perfectly controlled core of fruit, concluding with a long, fresh and perfumed finish. Entirely crafted from Sémillon, it registers a pH of 3.8.

Among the very best Sauternes estates, Ch. Suduiraut is owned by AXA Millésimes, which also manages Pichon Baron. The team works meticulously to select the finest fruit from its 91 hectares of vines, bordering Yquem. The resulting wines are intensely concentrated, balanced, complex and age-worthy.
