A brilliant Siran, the 2023 Château Siran offers ripe, perfumed, incredibly complex aromatics of red and black fruits, spicy herbs/flowers, tobacco, and cedar pencil. Based on 49% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Petit Verdot and aged 12 months in 35% new French oak, it has that classic Margaux spice, complexity, and elegance. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, layered mouthfeel, beautiful overall balance, and a gorgeous finish. It offers immense pleasure today yet should have 25+ years of overall longevity. This is well worth seeking out and stocking up on, and it might be the finest Siran to date. There are roughly 9,167 cases produced. Drink 2026-2051.

The 2023 Siran is a tasty, easygoing Margaux to drink now and over the next decade or so. Super-ripe black cherry, chocolate, new leather, licorice, menthol and sweet spice are front and center. The 2023 is a fine drink, although I would prefer to see a touch more complexity.

The 2023 Siran has a well-defined and focused bouquet, blackberry and graphite, a little Pauillac in style. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannins, but this is well balanced and definitely fresh and vital. Classically styled with good substance on the finish, it retains Margaux-like finesse and silky texture on the finish. Very fine.

Ripe currants, mulberries, spicy oak, and savory flower notes are just some of the nuances in the 2023 Château Siran, a medium to full-bodied, pure, balanced Margaux that has some background smoky oak, ripe yet certainly present tannins, and outstanding length. Its purity of fruit is top-notch.

In the south of Margaux, this property has 36 hectares of vines. There’s an unusually large proportion of Petit Verdot (13%) in the vineyard, something which the team feels adds finesse, concentration and a spicy finish to the wine.
