The 2023 Pédesclaux retains the perfumed nose displayed from barrel, touches of rose petal infusing the black fruit, just a faint touch of bell pepper, very Pauillac in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a keen line of acidity, plenty of graphite notes toward the finish that feels just a bit austere. Not bad, though it just lacks a bit of excitement.

Fresh and crunchy, showing vibrant berries, currants and elegant herbs. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins and a tight but seamless finish. Good energy throughout. A blend of 70% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot and 10% cabernet franc, aged in 65% new oak. Approachable now but better from 2027.

This is good quality if not quite at the level of the exceptional quality of the 202. This has sculpted black fruits, good precision and fresh mint character, sculpted cassis and bilberry, crayon and graphite. Harvest September 13 through to October 4, 65% new oak for aging. Second vintage certified organic.

Flowers, blackberries, chocolate, and black, red, and blue fruits create the complex aromatic profile. The fruits are as ripe as they are energetic on the palate. The berries are clean, fresh, vibrant, and long, with sweetness, length, and elegance in the fragrant finish. Give it a few years in the cellar, and enjoy it over the following 2 or more decades. The wine is blended using 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc. 13% ABV. Harvesting took place September 13 - October 4, making this the longest harvest in the history of Pedesclaux.
