Smoky red and black fruits, tobacco, and leather notes all emerge from the 2023 Château La Prade, another beauty from this team offering medium-bodied richness, a supple, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. This savory, complex, satisfying effort should keep for 7-8 years as well and drink nicely right out of the gate. The blend is 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc, aging in 40% new French oak.

Medium-bodied, forward, with sweetness, and firmness, freshness, ripe, crisp, chewy, rustic, sweet, dark cherries, raspberries, and plums with licorice, florals, spice, and a touch of marine influences on the palate, as well as in the finish. You can enjoy this on release, or age it for at least a decade or more. Made from 79% Merlot, with 21% Cabernet Franc.

The 2023 La Prade is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of juicy blackberries, cassis, and kirsch jump from the glass, with underlying suggestions of black pepper and lavender. The medium-bodied palate is bright and energetic, with lovely tension and soft, rounded tannins, finishing with a floral burst. The blend is 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc.

This is very crunchy, with bright blackberries, cherries and some chocolate. Medium body, supporting a solid core of fruit and a flavorful finish. Shows energy. Another excellent wine from limestone soils. 79% merlot and 21% cabernet franc.
