Tasting Notes
There’s sweet intensity to the nose here – with bright, vivid strawberry fruit. On the palate, there’s an effortless lightness and fine tannin, the wine building to a savoury finish. It’s chalky, with a richness that grows and is ever so slightly warming at this youthful stage.

From the Blaye region, the 2023 Domaine De Cambes is beautiful stuff and brings a rare sense of purity and elegance. Ripe red and black fruits, sappy tobacco, and minty herb notes define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a supple, layered, elegant mouthfeel and ultra-fine tannins. I'll eat my hat if it's not an outstanding wine when all is said and done.
Herbs, spearmint, tobacco, licorice, and red berries are on display in the nose, and on the palate. The fruits are vibrant, sweet, chewy, and fresh with a savory, salty accent in the finish. The wine blends 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 de Cambes comes bounding out with exuberant notes of baked plums, ripe boysenberries, and wild sage leading to hints of black truffle and fragrant soil. The medium to full-bodied palate has lovely tension and a firm texture of grippy tannins supporting the generous fruit, finishing long and earthy.
