Tasting notes
Merlot-dominant with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Malbec, and a splash of Petit Verdot, the 2023 Château De Pressac spent 20 months in 95% French oak barrels (55% new) with the balance in amphora. Its deep purple hue is followed by a floral perfume of red and blue fruits intermixed with loads of spring flowers, sappy herbs, and chocolaty oak. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a great mid-palate, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. It's impressive and well worth seeking out, and I'd be shocked if it didn't drink nicely for two decades. Drink 2026-2046.

The 2023 de Pressac is terrific. Dark, ample and vibrant, the 2023 has so much to offer. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, gravel, licorice and dried herbs all build in the glass. This is such a classy, polished wine. Pressac remains one of the most distinctive wines in Bordeaux. Give this a few years to be at its best.
The 2023 Château de Pressac has a lighter nose than expected and demands coaxing, revealing blackberry, cedar and light minty scents with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, not overly complex but with commendable body and weight, just a little chewiness appearing on the finish, peppery on the aftertaste.
