Tasting notes
The classic cuvée of the estate, the 2023 Château De Carles is mostly Merlot and delivers attractive notes of black cherry and darker, almost blue fruits interwoven with some leafy herb and floral notes. It's medium-bodied, round, supple, and satisfying.

Flowers, and black cherries define the essence of the wine here. On the palate, the wine is soft, polished, and fresh, with chocolate, and plums on the mid-palate, and in the finish. The wine was made from 100% Merlot.
I like the freshness and focus here, with firm tannins and good energy to it. Medium-bodied, crunchy and lively. Good acidity and beautiful fruit. Very attractive.
Plenty of Fronsac typicity in its rich fruit structure balanced with fresh pomegranate and orange peel acidities. Chalky tannins and slate-scrape through the palate, enjoyable. Unoaked, or just a little touch of staves.
