Score 96/100 · Drink 2026-2063, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, Mar 2026

The 2023 D'Arche continues the estate’s upward trajectory observed in recent vintages. Entirely crafted from Sémillon and fermented as well as matured in 50% new oak, it registers 148 grams per liter of residual sugar. The bouquet evokes apricot, exotic fruits, Anjou pear and ripe orchard fruits, articulated with clarity and precision. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and layered, it delivers impressive concentration without excess and is built around a fleshy core of fruit animated by vibrant acidity that carries through to a long, precise and ethereal finish. This is a controlled, finely judged expression of the vintage.

A blend of 95% Semillon and 5% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2023 d’Arche has 148g/l of residual sugar and a pH of 3.85. It is pale lemon-straw in color and powers out with ready-to-go notes of grapefruit oil, green guava, pineapple tart, and lime leaves, plus nuances of fresh ginger and nutmeg. The palate is elegantly styled, with impressive poise and a lifted, citrusy finish.

The lovely, solid center-palate shows off currants and blackberries and a citrus undertone. Medium body, creamy and polished tannins and a long, focused finish. 3.4 pH helps the lively balance. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Better than 2022.
