Tasting notes
Based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2023 Château Cantelauze offers up a savory, slightly old school perfume of red and black fruits, chocolate, spicy wood, and leafy herbs. This carries to a medium-bodied Pomerol that's balanced, has a round, supple, easy-going mouthfeel, and a good finish.

A tight and precise Pomerol with blackberry, dark-chocolate and hazelnut character. Medium body with firm tannins that frame the wine nicely. Flavorful finish. One to watch. 85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc.
The 2023 Cantelauze has a very respectable bouquet with tightly-knit cranberry and raspberry scents, the oak nicely integrated. There is an almost pastille-like purity here. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and well-judged acidity. It’s a little toasty toward the finish, but it represents a satisfying, early-drinking Pomerol.
The 2023 Cantelauze is a soft, fruity Pomerol to drink over the near and medium term while the fruit remains vibrant. Juicy dark cherry, mocha, licorice and spice all meld together in this easygoing, approachable Pomerol.
