Tasting notes
Mulberries, cherries, spice, and some leather and savory flower notes all emerge from the 2023 Château Bellegrave, a Merlot0dominated Pomerol (there's 15% Cabernet Franc) that's medium-bodied, round, supple, and nicely textured. This satisfying, balanced, thoroughly enjoyable 2023 will drink nicely for a decade.

Medium-bodied, fresh, forward, fruity, light in weight, with a soft, early-drinking, forward character. You can enjoy this on release and over the near term.
A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, the 2023 Bellegrave is deep garnet-purple in color. It leaps with vibrant notes of kirsch and juicy strawberries, leading to suggestions of garrigue, wet slate, and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is chewy and lively, with delicate, savory flavors and a lifted finish.
I really like the blackberry and blueberry character to this, together with lavender and violet undertones. Full-bodied, layered and fruity at the end, but shows framed tension.
