Score 90-92/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2019

Aromas of berry fruit, dried flowers, espresso roast, raw cocoa and forest floor introduce the 2017 Corton Grand Cru Grèves, a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated wine that's quite firm and chalky, displaying an austere chassis of tannin. I suspect it will always be a little structural and muscular.

The 2017 Corton Greves Grand Cru contains 25% whole clusters and around 20% new oak. It has a more engaging, complex bouquet than the Corton La Vigne Au Saint, featuring more crushed stone and a subtle sea spray scent infusing the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, quite supple tannin. There is plenty of red berry fruit here, and an earthy undercurrent becomes more pronounced toward the linear finish. Give this two or three years in bottle and drink after the La Vigne Au Saint.
