Tasting notes
Score 92/100 · Drink 2025-2032, Jeb Dunnuck, May 2025

Pear, floral notes, ripe mango, and white flowers all emerge from 2023 Condrieu. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced on the palate, it has a juicy, elegant profile as well as a silky texture and impressive length. This classic Condrieu will shine for 5-7 years. Drink 2025-2032. One of the reference points for Côte Rôtie, Domaine Rostaing is now firmly in the hands of Pierre Rostaing, who continues the legacy of his father René. Farming is sustainable, and winemaking remains traditional, with full destemming (there might be a stem or two in some of these) and élevage in a mix of larger older and new French oak, with the new wood kept to a minimum. The range includes the classic Côte Rôtie Ampodium, which blends multiple parcels, as well as single lieu-dit bottlings from La Landonne, Côte Blonde, Côte Brune, and Le Viallière. A Condrieu and a Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah (Les Lézardes) round out the lineup.

The 2023 Condrieu La Bonnette showcases redolent apricot, honeysuckle, banana and white peach tones. Medium-bodied with lifting freshness and spot-on balance, the 2023 is absolutely delicious. This is a magnificent Condrieu. True to Rostaing’s house style, this Condrieu sees no oak and its malolactic conversion was blocked to preserve both aromatic purity and citrus-like acidity.

A lovely, juicy, bright and aromatic Condrieu with fresh lemons, blanched almonds, white peaches and fresh white flowers. Medium-bodied with bright acidity. Lively and attractive with a long finish. Drink or hold.
