Tasting notes
Dark ruby/magenta, the 2021 Rosso Di Montalcino needs some air to open and is highly aromatic with notes of black raspberries, candied violets, and sweet balsamic herbs. Juicy and primary, it has good freshness and is a quaffable red that retains good freshness and a rounded mouthfeel with fine tannins. A crowd-pleaser of a wine with loads of versatility, it’s a great introduction to Sangiovese to have over the next 3-4 years.

The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino opens with an herbal tinge that quickly blows off to reveal a blend of woodland berries, crushed rocks and sweet smoke. This is remarkably fresh and energetic, with masses of ripe, mineral-inflected red fruits and spice propelled by zesty acidity. It finishes staining and long, leaving a bitter tinge, all refreshed by a bump of residual acidity.
