The 2020 Perdeblokke Limited Release begins with aromas of lime candy, peach ring, lemongrass and marzipan. Medium-bodied and with zesty acidity, the Sauvignon Blanc offers a slightly nutty expression with a mineral-laced mouthfeel before concluding with a lingering and zesty finish. I can see this working really well with fresh seafood and white fish. Give it a try.

The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Perdeblokke evokes sea spray and saline scents on the nose; I could be walking along the wharf of my hometown in the Thames estuary! Wonderful. The palate is beautifully balanced with a fine bead of acidity. There is so much energy coiled up in this wine, and it is so precise and pixelated on the finish. The standout Sauvignon Blanc from Matthew Day and his team.
Full bottle 1,352 g. Single block. Natural cork. Very pale gold. Just a hint of the sweatiness of youth on the nose, with subtle nuttiness and a vanilla accent from a judicious application of oak. With a hint of fresh cream, this gives precise kiwi and lime fruit on the nose – lots of focus. Fluid palate, with mouth-watering acidity, and beautifully integrated oak spice that complements the pungent, boxwood finish of the Sauvignon. Great length. (TJ)
