Score 91/100 · Drink 2021-2028, Josh Raynolds, Feb 2017
Deep ruby. Smoky, mineral-accented cherry, red berry and violet scents are sharpened by a suggestion of peppery spices. Juicy and penetrating in the mouth, showing very good focus and lift to the bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors. Bright and nervy on the long, floral-dominated finish, which is framed by silky, fine-grained tannins.

The 2014 Côte Rôtie (96% Syrah and 4% Viognier) showed better from bottle than barrel and offers a medium-bodied, open-knit, complex style to go with perfumed notes of sweet red fruits, spice and sappy flowers. Drink it anytime over the coming 7-8 years.
