The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a very tight, recalcitrant bouquet that budges little with rigorous aeration, implying that it would benefit from another two or three years in bottle. The palate is slightly viscous and honeyed on the entry, suggesting late-picked fruit, although I am seeking a little more acidic “bite” toward the finish. Pale gold and quite developed on the nose with fruit to the fore – pineapple and baked apple. Ripe and juicy. Much more substantial than the 2011 Pillot – more corpulent, less cerebral. (RH)
Good pale yellow. Musky stone fruits and marzipan on the nose. Sweet, round and spicy, with noteworthy energy thanks to strong acidity. Lovely peachy village wine with real grip.
Boillot's 2010 Puligny-Montrachet wraps around the palate with expressive yellow stone fruits, light floral honey, and apricots. This is an especially round, generous village-level Puligny, with lovely overall balance. Saline notes add freshness and vibrancy on the finish.
