Instantly impressive, the biodynamic 2018 Reserve Red displays a deep, almost opaque magenta core. Aromas of dusty cherry and plum float out of the glass with elements of black pepper, wild brush and hints of truffle. Medium-bodied and balanced on the palate, the wine reveals flavors of juicy tobacco and bitter dark chocolate and firm, gripping tannins that will remain food-friendly for years to come. The wine ends with a somersaulting and ever-evolving finish that continues to reveal its subtleties and complexities. Give it another year in the bottle before opening and drink over the next decade and a half. Bravo!

The 2018 Red Reserve Biodynamic has a harmonious, delineated bouquet of black cherries, boysenberry, pressed violets and a pinch of white pepper. You get the feeling it is holding something back for later. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy ripe tannins and great depth and concentration, particularly on the long finish, which leaves white pepper and clove on the aftertaste. This needs time, but it has enormous potential.
