Tasting notes
The 2019 Barolo Vignarionda Ester Canale Rosso is a classy, elegant wine. Fine, silky tannins wrap around a core of bright, red-toned fruit, blood orange, mint, spice and rose petal. This understated, sensual Barolo is all charm. The long, deceptively nuanced finish is quite appealing.

The 2019 Barolo is beautiful with aromas of raspberry liqueur, pressed roses, blood orange, and sweet spices. It is medium-bodied, with fine tannins and driving structure and no harsh edges. It is long and clean and fresh through the palate, with delicate mineral persistence that is elegant and pure. Drink it over the next 15 or more years.
Lustrous, youthful mid ruby. Amazing depth and precision on the nose. Crushed gravel stones over red fruit. Perfumed and deep and with a touch of black tea leaves. Compact raspberry fruit on the palate with a layer of finely ground, firm yet super-elegant tannins and supple, lifted acidity. Lots of substance. Tannic fireworks. Full spread on the finish. (WS)
