(this is Allemand's special cuvee made without sulfur additions and bottled without fining or filtration) Saturated deep ruby. Superripe aromas of crystallized blackberry and fig; distinctly liqueur-like without being at all oxidized. Concentrated, dense and ripe, but firmer in the mouth than the Reynard, despite the absence of sulfur. A Cornas of noteworthy solidity, with notes of violet, pepper, licorice and black olive. Comes across as more tannic than the Reynard.

About the producer
Allemand’s wines set the benchmark for Cornas: expressive Syrahs crafted with uncompromising traditional methods and released in tiny quantities. From the 1980s, he revived abandoned vineyards on Cornas’s steep granite slopes, building his domaine without inherited land or financial support.
