A wine that shines for its balance and purity, the 2020 Clos Margalaine has darker, almost blue fruits as well as outstanding aromatics of damp earth, tobacco, and dried flowers. It's not massive but is medium-bodied, elegant, and seamless, with ultra-fine tannins. A beautiful Margaux, it will drink well for 10-15 years.
The 2020 Clos Margalaine has a powerful bouquet with black cherries, bilberry and light violet aromas that gain delineation in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins that lend a little more tension than its peers, gentle grip with impressive depth on the peppery finish. Very fine, but it needs cellaring.
The 2020 Clos Margalaine turned out beautifully. Succulent red cherry, kirsch, mint, white pepper and grilled herbs are all woven throughout this nuanced, super-expressive Margaux. Forward and open-knit, with tons of sensuality, Clos Margalaine is a winner. It should be a fabulous value too.
