The fleshy, flower-scented 2001 Puligny-Montrachet Champs-Canet is a crystalline, green tea, quinine, and mineral-flavored offering. Light to medium-bodied, it has impressive depth and purity as well as a long, expressive finish. It should be consumed over the next 5-6 years. Musky pineapple aroma comes across as more exotic than most of Ramonet examples from Chassagne. Rich and tactile but quite pure, with the ripe pineapple flavor repeating. Not quite as powerful or gripping as the Ruchottes but ripe, fresh and long on the aftertaste.
