Tasting notes
Bright, deep red-ruby. Vibrant, highly nuanced nose combines raspberry, cherry, flowers, smoke and roasted herbs. Sweet but suave and fresh, with superb concentration and sappy verve. Still youthfully taut and reined in, with plenty of power in reserve. Lovely floral lift transcends the vintage. An exceptionally good 2003, finishing with outstanding breadth and length.

A clear and important step up as this is more elegant, more complex, more refined and prettier with the best freshness of any of these '03s with very ripe and primary red pinot fruit aromas that are expressive and offer good volume. The sappy, dusty, delicious and finely structured flavors offer a really lovely texture though there is a hint of dusty dryness on the notably long finish.
Ruby-red. Superripe aromas of dark fruits, smoke, licorice, game and chocolate. Densely packed, large-scaled and impressively deep, with sappy, liqueur-like dark fruit and chocolate flavors saturating the entire palate. Not hugely primary for a Dugat wine but very impressive. With aeration, this was like a chocolate and coffee truffle.
