Tasting notes
This is a superb wine – and shows a real step up from the village Meursault. It’s closed and a little reduced at the time of tasting, but with pleasing, smoky, gunflint that offsets the ripe peach fruit. There’s a density to the fruit and generosity to the way the wine flows effortlessly. More delicate white blossom and ground almond notes emerge with air, while there’s a zesty freshness and mineral line that balances the plump fruit. Four barrels were made, aged in 60% new oak.
