Henri Boillot’s Meursault is entirely from domaine-owned parcels, all on the coteau (Les Petits Charrons, Chevalières, Casse Têtes, Luraule and Les Pelles, totalling 1.5 hectares). The 2022 saw 20% new oak. Although Henri Boillot’s style is typically razor-sharp, this wine still has the nutty intensity of classic Meursault, alongside more modern taut lemon and gunflint. There’s real drive to the palate, but it broadens out, the village speaking again with more supple, fleshy nectarine, before being drawn in again onto a mineral finish with a hint of toast. Excellent.

All domaine fruit now, from Les Chevalières, Luraule. Pelles, Casses Têtes, Petits Charrons. Pale to medium lemon yellow. A generous bouquet speaking clearly of Meursault. A broad bench of ripe white apple fruit with excellent energy, good acidity behind, and notable persistence. Very Meursault and quite delicious. (5 Star Wine)

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
