A perfumed and quite floral nose freely offers up it aromas of the essence of re cherry, currant and a whiff of spice nuances. The lacy and much more finely textured middleweight flavors possess an almost delicate mouthfeel that tightens up somewhat on the dusty, balanced and sneaky long finale. This is lovely and pretty much textbook Cents Vignes. Drink 2029+

The 2022 Beaune Village has turned out nicely, opening in the glass with aromas of sweet plums, dark berries, orange zest and spices. Medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, with powdery tannins and a sapid finish, it's mostly matured in foudre. It's a blend of Les Pointes des Tuvilains and La Blanchisserie, dominated by the former.
Cask sample. Appealing 'entry-level' Beaune. Crisp, crunchy and vibrant fruit. Not a heavyweight but there is plenty of ripe, juicy fruit to enjoy. Clean, fresh and lively example. (AWH)
The 2022 Beaune Village, which was aged in a new foudres plus three used oak barrels, was taken from tank, having been racked two weeks ago. This has a lovely rose petal and incense-infused bouquet that blossoms in the glass - very pure fruit. The palate is well-balanced, and the 30% whole bunches seamlessly integrated. There’s very good weight with black plum and a pinch of white pepper on the finish. Why can't all Beaune Villages be this good?
