Tasting notes
The 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Marie Beurrier brings a touch more density and depth, with similarly spicy aromatics of darker cherries, leather, sandalwood, and dried garrigue. It's beautifully textured, medium to full-bodied, has a supple, layered mouthfeel, and ripe tannins. It's very much in the forward, charming style of the vintage and is impossible to resist. Drink 2025-2035.

The radiant 2018 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Marie Beurrier presents a dazzling aromatic profile that frames melted licorice, pressed rose petal, cured meat, black cherry compote and garrigue . A dash of white pepper and leafy gradations add more complexity. Touching the palate with sweet-tasting fruit enveloped by velvety tannins, the 2018 is a layered and full-bodied Marie Beurrier with excellent drive through the mid-palate. The one thing that prevents it from scoring higher is a clipped finish that cannot quite keep up with the wine’s other attributes.

About the producer

This very old-school property makes the most unique Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wines are fantastically complex and Boneauu made it as it would have been produced 100 years ago in the commune, using methods that familiar to any of the 11 generations of vignerons in his family who preceded him.
