Tasting notes
The 2004 Barbaresco Coparossa is round, sumptuous and intense. Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, spice and leather are pushed forward in a racy, full-throttle Barbaresco that captures the essence of Bruno Rocca's style at the time. Still young and vibrant, the 2004 will drink well for another decade or so. The demi glace-like textural feel is very much a signature of the modern school, yet unlike so many other wines made in a similar manner, the Coparossa has stood the test of time beautifully. It is also far more expressive and complete today than it was when first released.

The 2004 Barbaresco Coparossa is sweet and ample, with a more obvious toasted oak presence complemented by scorched and macerated cherries. this deeply-colored, beautifully-proportioned Barbaresco offers superb balance, yet it is also a fairly structured wine that will benefit from a few additional years of bottle age.
