Tasting notes
The 2011 Barbaresco Vallegrande opens to lots of softness and plushness with black cherry, cinnamon spice, campfire ash and crushed stone. There is a point of ripe fruit sweetness in the mouth with thick, succulent fruit at the back.

Bright red cherries, pine, spice and mint are some of the notes that jump from the glass in the 2011 Barbaresco Vallegrande. Floral and lifted in the glass, the 2011 stands out for its nuance and delineation. In this vintage, the Vallegrande retains its essentially perfumed, mid-weight personality.
Treiso. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Rich and youthful and ripe and with some pretty firm and slightly drying tannins on the finish, but should improve. (WS)
