This important wine was already reviewed last year, so this is a revisit. The Alois Lageder 2016 Alto Adige Cabernet Sauvignon Cor Römigberg is a certified organic and biodynamic wine that opens to an inky dark appearance with lingering tones of spice, baked clay and pencil shavings. Those mineral tones frame a core of dark blackberry and rosemary essence. The wine reveals a generous, medium-bodied effort and neatly integrated tannins that add structure but are soft. I know that this estate has been sensitive to bottle glass weight in the years after this bottling.
