Good medium red. More aromatic on the nose than the 2009, showing a strong mineral component to go with the red cherry, raspberry and flowers. Fresh and pretty in the mouth, with firm acids and tannins sharpening the flavors of red cherry, flowers and spices. Finishes with very good length. Lovely Barbaresco.

The 2008 Barbaresco Söri' Rio Sordo wafts from the glass with an enticing array of dried flowers, sweet mountain herbs and worn-in leather. This is a touch fleeting next to the Chiaramonti but it possesses lovely balance in an undertstated style. This is another strong showing from Ca' Rome.
