Tasting notes
The 2011 Capogatto is a Bordeaux blend of grapes with an all-Italian personality. This is a thick and expressive blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, and you definitely feel the heft and power of those brawny and muscular red grape varieties. The bouquet shows dark berry nuances with spice, leather, mineral notes and rosemary oil. The overall effect is beautiful and harmonious. Capogatto packs additional punch thanks to the ripe fruit obtained in the hot 2011 vintage.

More reviews and scores
The 2011 Capogatto is decidedly ripe, oaky and sweet in this vintage. There is plenty of depth and richness in the glass, but most of the wine's appeal is up-front, as the persistence and depth tail off dramatically on the mid-palate and finish.
