Dark fruit character with spiced plum and damson, delivered alongside waves of juiciness, spice, saffron, orange peel, primary fruit character and even a touch of baby fat. Opulent yet poised, once it moves into the mid palate the architecture changes and narrows, and in comes the slate scrape of well-handled limestone. This character will rise further over the years to come, and makes it such a fun experience, one to savour and to look forward to tracking over the years if you are able to open several bottles of the same vintage. 30% new oak. First vintage certified with Ecocert organic. Great stuff from Peter Sisseck.

The 2019 Château Rocheyron emerges from the talents of Silvio Denz and Peter Sisseck. Its deep purple hue gives way to a textured, medium to full-bodied Saint-Emilion with loads of ripe chocolaty darker fruit, notes of tobacco, chalky minerality, and sappy flowers, ripe tannins, juicy acidity (if not almost too much acidity, which makes me question the balance), and a great finish. It's one of those wines that you love, yet it still gives me just a hint of pause on the overall balance. I followed this wine for two days and it showed more balance on day two, with the acidity being more integrated. I'd give it a few years, and it should keep for 10-15 with no issues.

The 2019 Rocheyron is sensual and expressive, wafting from the glass with aromas of raspberries, pencil shavings, potpourri and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, broad and enveloping, with tangy acids, powdery tannins and a supple, seamless profile, it concludes with a mouthwateringly saline finish. This collaboration between Peter Sisseck and Silvio Denz has turned out brilliantly.
