Tasting notes
Tightly wound after its recent bottling, Dugat-Py's 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles unfurls in the glass with enticing aromas of peonies, wild berries, orange rind and spices, deftly framed by a judicious application of (50%) new oak. Medium to full-bodied, bright and elegantly muscular, with a concentrated, almost introverted core that's framed by powdery tannins, it concludes with a long, mineral finish.

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles 1er Cru is one of the lowest-producing vineyards, yielding just 20hl/ha due to the age of the vines and shallow soils. The very pure bouquet features ebullient red cherry and raspberry fruit and fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, and quite succulent, with a sorbet-like richness and vibrancy on the finish. This is very well crafted and should age with style. Excellent.
