The 2015 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is one of the more aromatically reticent wines in the range, opening in the glass with notes of coniferous forest floor, raspberry and currant leaf. On the palate, the wine is supple, silky and expansive, with a deep and sapid core of fruit, bright acids, and fine-grained, chalky tannins which assert themselves on the finish. This will need time, but the raw materials are promising.

Bright medium red. More funky than the Suchots but in a positive way, offering soil-driven scents of strawberry, redcurrant, smoked meat and earth. Broad and voluminous in the style of the vintage but also with good freshness and spicy lift to its very ripe but classically dry red berry flavors. This strikes me as a rather austere wine in the way it's holding back its flavors today, but its serious density and impressive spicy persistence indicate that it will reward patience.

A bit of oak in evidence – a tad clumsy? Very chewy and almost sour on the end. Not graceful – a bit over-extracted? (JR)

(100% vendange entier ): Bright medium red. Wilder on the nose than the Echézeaux, with its high-pitched strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant aromas complicated by a rocky quality and deep, smoky earth tones. Then plush, sweet and suave in the mouth, with the whole-bunch energy giving the mid-palate a lacy quality. Finishes with fairly fine-grained tannins and brisk peppery lift. This doesn't show quite the complexity, definition or sheer éclat of the best 2015s at this address, and also seemed to shut down in the glass.
