Chewy, leafy, savory, earthy, chalky currants with leafy accents and a hint of spice is what you will find in the nose and on the medium-bodied, fresh, earthy, classic, slightly rustic palate. Drink from 2023-2038.

Mostly Merlot, the 2020 Château Clarke has attractive black cherry and currant fruits as well as leafy tobacco, chocolate, and scorched earth. Balanced and medium-bodied, it has good mid-palate depth and the purity and structure of the vintage. This is another impressive Listrac that will keep for a good decade.

The 2020 Clarke has a classically-styled bouquet with strict blackberry, graphite and mint aromas that might lead you towards Pauillac instead of Listrac. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, well balanced with a fresh line of acidity. The oak is neatly assimilated on the finish that feels smooth and enticing. This is an excellent Château Clarke.

The 2020 Clarke is a jewel of a wine. A blast of dark plum, espresso, leather, scorched earth and dried herbs makes a strong opening statement. Deep and packed to the core, Clarke is super-impressive in 2020. I would give the tannins a few years to soften. This is a fabulous showing.
