Tasting notes
The 1999 Pandora (a 200-case Syrah/Grenache blend) is packaged in a designer bottle with an exquisite label. It boasts a huge, complex bouquet of minerals, black fruits, licorice, earth, and graphite. There is great fruit on the attack, abundant tannin, full body, and a layered, impressive finish. It should drink well for 12-15 years. Tel. (805) 546-0305

(a 60/40 blend of grenache and syrah) Saturated bright dark ruby. Wild aromas of raspberry, strawberry, smoked meat, maple syrup, saffron and exotic spices. Thick, dense, concentrated and sweet, with flavors of exotic berries, meat and spices. Began almost too rich but showed a firmer shape and more structure with aeration, thanks to its edge of fresh acidity and firm tannic spine. Exhilaratingly complex wine.
