Tasting notes
The 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru possesses a more tropical-leaning aromatic profile, with mango and pineapple, but perhaps it’s just missing a bit of complexity and mineralité . The palate is rounded on the entry and quite honeyed in texture, with fine acidity. Chewier than its peers, with what feels like more extract toward its pithy finish, this is perhaps a little overworked compared to others, though there is undeniably decent length. Give this another 3 to 4 years. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

One of the riper, richer wines in the range is the 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and textural wine that's evocative or orange oil, nutmeg, white flowers and crisp green apple.
The 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from Charlemagne and the Pernand side of the hill, comprises two barrels from the domaine and three barrels from two other sources. It comes across surprisingly closed on the nose. Maybe just going through a dumb phase of élevage? The palate is medium-bodied and much more expressive, gorgeous yellow plum and pithy/peachy notes with a caressing finish. Once the aromatics awaken, this should be a very seductive "CC".
