Tasting notes
With fruit from Monforte d'Alba, the 2012 Barolo Gramolere is a well-integrated wine with luscious tones of black fruit that are smoothed over by barbecue spice and toasted almond. There is a succulent vein of dark sweetness that runs straight through this hot-vintage Barolo.

The 2012 Barolo Gramolere is soft, open-knit and very pretty. Today, it shows a bit more fleshiness and resonance than it did last year. The 2012 is not super-complex or structured, but it does offer quite a bit of near and medium-term appeal. Lifted aromatic notes add to the wine's allure.
Manzone's 2012 Barolo Gramolere is rich, powerful and also surprisingly dense. Sweet red cherry, mint, anise and spice notes meld together in a round, succulent Barolo that can be enjoyed now or cellared for at least a handful of years. This is an especially open-knit, fruit driven-style for Gramolere, but all the elements are in the right place.
