Score 90/100 · Drink 2011-2017, Robert Parker, Dec 2011
The sexy, up-front 2009 St.-Joseph Aleofane displays notes of strawberries, bouquet garni, crushed rocks, red as well as black currants along with supple tannins and an irresistible style that begs for consumption over the next 5-6 years. Natacha Chave, no relation to Gerard and Jean-Louis Chave from Mauves, produces high quality wines from both Crozes-Hermitage and St.-Joseph. No known American importer.

100% Syrah. Silky, salty, easy with lots of fruit and quite a lot of oak. Thick – atypical. (JR)
