Tasting notes
A new addition to the line-up this year, this comes from the highest part of Folatières – around the same altitude as Chevalier-Montrachet, and the largest section of the vineyard. It’s the sunniest of the three Folatières bottlings. The nose is immediately expressive, with a hint of smoke. On the palate, it’s tightly packed with fruit, needing time to unfurl. It’s almost austere currently, not yet giving much away, yet shows the promise of what will be revealed with time in bottle. (It will need longer than Peux Bois or Clos des Folatières.) With a third new oak, just three barrels were produced. The 2022 labels are one-offs, including a dedication to their son Pâris, who was born on 1st January 2022.

The first of three separate subdivisions of Folatières which have been made and bottled apart. Pale green tint. This is honeyed on the nose, with a little oatmeal, rather delicious in its much riper style but that takes away the classicism. Three barrels made.
About the producer

Alvina Pernot is one of the most exciting producers of white Burgundy today. Based in Puligny-Montrachet with some incredible vineyards, this is a name to watch – creating taut and mineral styles of white Burgundy.
