Deep, youthful violet. Pungent, expansive aromas of ripe black and blue fruits take on spice and floral accents with air. Broad and fleshy yet lively as well, offering bitter cherry, cassis, cracked pepper and violet pastille flavors and a touch of smokiness. Finishes very long and spicy, with repeating florality and mounting tannins.

100% Syrah. Tasted blind. Gorgeously peppery nose with vegetal stemmy influence and sweet black fruit. Dry, finely textured tannins that are hydrated by high acidity on the finish. Fairly brief persistence, but that should develop in bottle. (RH)
