Tasting notes
Senechaux’s 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape showed well, with a perfumed bouquet of kirsch, garrigue and potpourri notes, full-bodied richness and a sweet, textured, mature feel on the palate. Made from 64% Grenache, 19% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre and the rest a mix of permitted varieties, drink this Provencal, delicious red over the coming couple of years.

Deep ruby. Ripe, smoky nose shows powerful red and dark berry aromas along with an exotic tobacco quality. Suave, velvety cherry/berry flavors offer impressive sweetness and depth, with silky tannins adding structure. A very pretty, harmonious wine, with considerable immediate appeal.
Dark red. Gamey aromas of red and dark berries, with a deep underbrush tone. Full and rich on the palate, with a liqueur-like quality and good depth to the dark berry and meat flavors. Finishes very ripe and long. This needs some time to settle down.
