Tasting notes
The 2019 Paveil de Luze is relatively understated on the nose with blackberry, briary and light truffle scents; the mineralité only surfacing with aeration. The palate is balanced and grippy, though there is a nagging vegetal element on the finish that rather discombobulates this Margaux. Tricky to assess as that greenness may be subsumed with bottle age, hence the question mark against my score. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

Tasted blind. A perfumed, rather captivating nose. Great balance. Very fluid fruit, though a relatively light tannic charge. Great for relatively early drinking. Very Margaux. (JR)
Aromas of sweet berries, spices, rose petals and loamy soil introduce the 2019 Paveil de Luze, a medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless wine that's lively, sapid and refined, exhibiting real class and character. Cabernet Sauvignon on gravel is the order of the day, and the result is one of the finest non-classified wines of the Médoc this year.
