Tasting notes
The 2018 Maranges Village offers crushed strawberry, cranberry and marmalade scents on the nose. Nice definition here. The palate is medium-bodied with firm structure, so masculine, so grippy after the 2019 with just a touch of dry tannins on the spicy finish. It lacks the elegance of 2019 but it has long term potential.

This does taste a little like Chalonnaise! Perhaps not surprisingly given the geography. Correct but not thrilling. (JR)
The 2018 Maranges Villages is a blend of Village Cru and Premier Cru fruit with 10% whole cluster. It has a pretty bouquet of raspberry and cranberry fruit, quite minerally and well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, bright red cherry and strawberry fruit and just a slightly clipped finish. Still, it should flesh out with bottle age.
