Tasting notes
The 2021 Barolo Cerretta is fabulous and finessed. Black cherry fruit, graphite, spice, lavender and dried herbs are some of the many notes that build over time. The 2021 has a ton of muscle, power and breadth. It also needs at least a few years in bottle to be at its finest.

The 2021 Barolo Cerretta is the most approachable of Conterno's 2021 Barolos. It seems to offer a bit less overall dimension and complexity than the other Barolos and, therefore, more complete balance of its components in the early going that should allow it to start opening with a few years in bottle. There's plenty of underlying nervy structure, and yet the Cerretta is not quite as imposing as its siblings in this range. Floral and spice overtones gradually open with a bit of aeration.
About the producer

Giacomo Conterno is arguably Barolo’s most celebrated estate. While most famous for its Monfortino Riserva, the quality found in every bottling of Nebbiolo and Barbera at this address makes them a benchmark producer for both varieties.
