2008 Cote Rotie

Deep ruby. High-pitched aromas of raspberry and blackberry are complemented by dried flowers and black tea. Smoky, gently sweet, modestly concentrated dark fruit flavors display pinot-like texture and spiciness, with no rough edges or obvious tannins. Could use more depth but then this is from 2008. Finishes with good precision and a tangy note of blood orange.
