Score 88/100 · Drink 2016-2020, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2016
The 2012 Le Sartre is juicy and exuberant, with lovely mid-palate depth and terrific overall balance, especially at this level. Sweet tobacco, menthol, licorice and dried flowers add nuance in a racy, hearty red to drink over the next few years. The blends is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot.

Score 86/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Robert Parker, Apr 2015
A somewhat one-dimensional style of Pessac-Léognan, this blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot shows the vintage’s very dark pigment and color. It is medium-bodied, with good concentration, but again, its absence of finesse, nuance and complexity are apparent. Drink it over the next decade.

Smoky and sweet and you could find so many wines like this elsewhere in the world. (JR)
