Tasted blind. Paler than most. Light and fruity and very distinctive. Not fighting the vintage. Some follow-through. Not very bordeaux but more fun to drink than most of its peers. (JR)

The 2021 Le Dragon de Quintus has much more to offer than the Troisième Vin , with baking spices and Provençal herbs infusing the open red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a light-framed but fresh Saint-Émilion, delivering a dab of black pepper on the short finish. Fine. Just give it a year in bottle.
A fresh, fruity bouquet of dark wild berries, raspberries and cherries preface the 2022 Dragon de Quintus, a round, juicy and elegant wine that possesses a saline, calcareous and penetrating finish. It can be drunk any time over the next decade. It's a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.
Cask sample. Lots of acidity! Fresh and clean and neat but a bit of a shock! (JR)

Ch. Quintus is the flagship Saint-Emilion estate of Domaine Clarence Dillon (owners of Ch. Haut-Brion and Ch. la Mission Haut-Brion). Following the purchase of Ch. Tertre Daugay in 2011 and Ch. l’Arrosée in 2013, the two were merged to form Ch. Quintus. The first vintage of the wine was 2011.
