Tasting notes
The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a harmonious, almost understated bouquet armed with real mineralité and complexity. It is so nuanced but reveals more tropical scents, such as mango and passion fruit, after ten minutes. The palate is well-balanced with a waxy-textured opening. With fine acidity, it's pretty compact on the mid-palate with a lot of extract towards the finish. This needs time to really show what it can do. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is also superb, mingling aromas of citrus oil and peach with notes of nutmeg, freshly baked bread and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, layered and chalky, it's taut and incisive, with racy acids and a long, saline finish.
