Exhibiting aromas of red berries, licorice and rich soil tones, the 2018 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru La Coutière is medium to full-bodied, bright and richly structured, with more overt youthful structure than Magnien's polished reds from Gevrey-Chambertin.

The maiden 2018 Aloxe-Corton La Coutiere 1er Cru comes from 0.76 hectares of 55-year-old vines. It offers attractive black cherries and blueberry on the nose, touches of blood orange and quince emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and quite spicy, with healthy pinch of black pepper. Displays firm structure on the slightly dry finish. Fine.
